Sallaum Humanity Foundation Scholarship Application Form

Sallaum Humanity Foundation Scholarships are awarded to Bekaa Area students during their years of High School and University. Applications are to be submitted to the SHF scholarship committee By September 20, 2023 at most of the year prior to the academic year for which you are requesting support. All information submitted will be held in confidence and used solely for the purpose of scholarship administration.


Instructions:

  1. Type an essay and include it with your application as directed on section 9. The essay must be original thoughts of the Applicant, in the Applicant’s own words, written by the Applicant.
  2. Provide the recommendation instructions to your Sponsor (ex: High School and Community Representatives) as described on section 10. Recommendations must be printed or typed and included with the submission of the full application.
  3. Attach a copy of a transcript of your courses. This transcript must include your high school attendance record. If your transcript does not include your attendance record, please ask your school to provide an official report.
  4. Final candidates must be present for a personal interview with the scholarship committee. You will be contacted via e-mail to set up an interview, so please check the e-mail you have provided in this application regularly.
  5. It is suggested that your guidance counselor review your application, the individual writing your recommendation, or another sponsor to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  6. Completed applications are to be submitted by September 20, 2023.
  7. In case you need to upload multiple documents, please create a zip folder including them all.

    If you DO NOT know this information before your interview with the committee, please skip this section. However, you will need to submit this information should you be awarded a scholarship from Sallaum Humanity Foundation.

    Please note:

    If you are awarded a scholarship or bursary assistance, you will need to sign a binding contract to commit to finishing your major and never fail any course.

    In case you were granted a maritime-related course, you will sign a commitment agreement to work for Sallaum Lines.

    Section 7: Applicant Certification And Signature


    Lack of data may result in elimination from Sallaum Foundation Scholarship consideration.

    The information reported is true, correct, and complete, to the best of my knowledge.

    If selected for the Sallaum Humanity Foundation Scholarship, I will comply with the program requirements, including regular communication with Sallaum Humanity Foundation.


    Section 8: Applicant Essay


    The individuals who have made this scholarship possible carefully designed the scholarship program to express their gratitude to the Community and to promote the aims of the Sallaum Humanity Foundation. Candidates for these scholarships are selected based on the following:

    • Resident of Bekaa

    • Financial need,

    • Scholastic achievement,

    • Character and leadership ability,

    • Breadth and depth of community service.


    The scholarship committee of the Sallaum Humanity Foundation has been entrusted with the task of deciding which candidates will be awarded a scholarship.


    On a separate sheet, prepare your essay. Include your name and the Scholarship Application Essay at the top of the pages (please use 12-point font). Your signature is required at the end of the essay—two pages maximum.


    To help us make this important decision regarding your future, please tell us about yourself. Please include any information you think will assist the committee in its consideration of you. Tell us in detail about yourself and your:

    • Family

    • Job

    • Community involvement

    • Volunteer work

    • Curricular and extra-curricular involvement at school and

    • Aspirations and goals in life

    Section 9: Letter Of Recommendation


    Sponsor: You have been selected by an applicant for the Sallaum Humanity Foundation Scholarship Program to provide a letter of recommendation. If you are a High School and Community Representative (for example, the student’s High School Principal, Guidance Counselor, religious leader, or another professional from the community), please attest to the character of the Applicant and their capability for completing university studies.


    The individuals who have made this scholarship possible carefully designed the scholarship program to express their gratitude to the Community and to promote the aims of the Sallaum Foundation. Candidates for these scholarships are selected based on the following:

    • Bekaa residence

    • Financial need,

    • Scholastic achievement,

    • Character and leadership ability,

    • Breadth and depth of community service.


    The scholarship committee of the Sallaum Humanity Foundation has been entrusted with the task of deciding which candidates will be awarded a scholarship.


    On a separate sheet, please provide a letter of recommendation. Include the Applicant’s name and Sallaum Humanity Foundation Scholarship Application Letter Of Recommendation at the top of the pages (please use 12-point font). Your signature, title, and date are required at the end of the Letter Of Recommendation—two pages maximum.
