Sallaum Humanity Foundation Launches I-CAMP in Partnership with INJAZ Lebanon

In an effort to nurture the innovative potential of our youth, Sallaum Humanity Foundation, in collaboration with INJAZ Lebanon, proudly presents its recent Innovation Camp (I-Camp). This transformative event brought together a diverse group of students from various regions of Bekaa, united by a common goal: to address and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the I-CAMP, our presentation encompassed diverse subjects designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills. These topics included defining innovation, providing an introduction to entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship, exploring the significance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), offering an overview of the challenge at hand, guiding participants in understanding the Lean Canvas methodology, engaging in a productive 120-minute work session, and culminating in a pitching presentation. This multifaceted approach ensured that our participants received a comprehensive education, preparing them for innovation and social impact challenges and opportunities.

The I-CAMP primarily focused on SDGs 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Participants were strategically divided into five teams to maximize their collective impact, each assigned to address a specific challenge related to an SDG.

It is essential to highlight that sustainability challenges were prevalent in the Bekaa region. Teams engaged in a spirited competition to devise innovative solutions for these pressing social issues. The competition featured three prizes, valued at $1,000, $500, and $300, respectively.

Furthermore, the remarkable enthusiasm, exemplary teamwork, and evident social cohesion displayed by the participating teams throughout the event deserve special mention.

Participants expressed their profound gratitude for the enriching and transformative experiences they encountered throughout the entire camp.

Sallaum Humanity Foundation understands the responsibility of evaluating pitches and is truly grateful for the jury members’ dedication and diligence throughout the process. The jury members’ assistance in ensuring the fair distribution of the first three prizes has been crucial. Your expertise and dedication have helped us recognize and reward the most deserving initiatives, which will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the communities we serve.

Notably, the jury members were taken aback by the extraordinary results of the one-day I-Camp and found themselves pondering the potential impact these exceptional young individuals could have with more time and support. It was evident to them that with such resources, these youths would undeniably make a substantial impact on sustainability and their community.

Under the guidance of mentors and experts, these passionate teams embarked on a journey of innovation, aiming to develop groundbreaking solutions for the designated SDGs. Their collaborative efforts were characterized by creativity, enthusiasm, and a deep sense of responsibility toward creating a sustainable and equitable future.

The mentors, drawn from SHF Ambassadors and INJAZ Lebanon, offered a wealth of experience and expertise to the teams involved in the program. Their profound knowledge and qualifications made them a crucial asset, ensuring that the teams received substantial guidance and actionable insights. These mentors played a pivotal role in fostering the growth and development of the teams, equipping them with the knowledge and strategic direction necessary for their success. Their contributions not only enriched the teams’ understanding of the subject matter but also served as a source of inspiration, empowering the teams to excel in their endeavors.

Sallaum Humanity Foundation extends a heartfelt gratitude to all individuals, groups, and organizations whose unwavering support and dedication were instrumental in making I-Camp a resounding success.

Sallaum Humanity Foundation is committed to empowering youth and fostering a culture of innovation, and the I-Camp indicates our commitment to these principles. Together, we move forward with purpose, guided by the belief that the youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow but the change-makers of today.
